Close the month like an audit.
Logged hours become approved, locked numbers ready to invoice. After close nothing changes quietly, and work done stops slipping between the timesheet and the invoice.
Same month, two ways to close it
Today, in many firms
- Hours are pulled from the timesheet into a spreadsheet.
- Work in progress is worked out by hand, by whoever has time.
- The amount to bill gets settled over email.
- After invoicing, nobody knows why a number changed.
With FuseCRM
- Logged hours go into the month’s valuation with no re-entry.
- Work in progress is calculated from the contract, project by project.
- The month goes through approval and locks.
- Every adjustment has a reason, every reopening leaves a trail.
Three things that no longer depend on spreadsheets
Find out at any time what there is to bill
Work in progress (done but not yet billed, called WIP in the app) can be valued at any point in the month. You see it by project, service line and manager, not only at close.
What you approve is exactly what goes to accounting
The export only comes from a locked month, so the numbers on the invoice are the approved ones. Your accounting software then issues the invoice.
Every contract on its own terms
Fixed fee, time and materials, monthly or quarterly retainer. The model is set per engagement, not per service: the same service can be fixed-fee for one client and a retainer for another.
Works together with Projects and Time, which is why they come in the same bundle, Professional Services.
A closed month reopens only with a reason, and the reopening stays on record: who, when and why. Once the export has gone to accounting, the month can’t be reopened at all.
The details, on your own examples
Billing rules differ from firm to firm, so we show them on your own contracts.
